Five things to do This Family Day in Dufferin County

1. Free Family Skate with Team Apex


Mark your calendars! We’re hosting a free family skate on Family Day Weekend! Bring the kids out for some fun on Sunday February 16th from 1-2pm, we’d love to see you!! 🏒 Free hot beverages for everyone and a ton of family fun!

2. Shelbrrr Fest

The Shelburne Kinsmen & Kinettes present Shelbrr Fest! On Monday February 17th from 11am to 4pm at Fiddle Park! Activities include musical entertainment, tooney wagon rides, an antique snowmobile show, snow tubing, a snow mountain, games and a warming station.

3. MoD Family Day

Join the Museum of Dufferin for their first event of 2020 with favourite local hockey legend Aaron Downey. He will organize the teams in the MoD Parking Lot Hockey Game. Bring your stick, helmet, comfy boots and energy! Dufferin County First responders and Spenser’s Kids will be here too. Inside there will be crafts, games, coffee for the parents and hot chocolate for the kids. Popcorn too! February 17 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

4. Family Day at Alder

This year’s Family Day, Monday, February 17, offers lots of fun activities at Alder Recreation Centre, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring the family for free skating and swimming, Family Zumba, face painting, crafts and costumed characters at the library. Complimentary 50-minute skates will run on the half-hour on both rinks, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Two free one-hour swims are planned for 12:15-1:15 p.m. and 2:15-3:15 p.m. Please note that swim admission standards apply. Face painting and crafts will be offered in the main lobby from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Alder branch of the Orangeville Public Library will be hosting some cartoon characters from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Family Zumba will be offered at 12:45-1:15 p.m. and 1:30-2 p.m.

5. Island Lake Conservation Area Ice Fishing Derby

Enjoy some competition on the ice this winter! The Island Lake Ice Fishing Derby returns with great categories and prizes. This event will run according to safe ice conditions. Saturday, February 9, 2019 - Monday, February 18, 2019 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. $35/adult, $10/child (up to 12 yrs)
